Debby Ryan Style Secrets: Disney Channel Star Shares Fashion Tips

For Disney Channel actress and singer Debby Ryan, fashion is a passion — and the rising young talent admits that it takes a healthy dose of confidence and an arsenal of stylists to put together the looks she's worn to events like Elton John's Oscars party and the Vampire Academy premiere. "I have an incredible stylist who is brilliant," Ryan, 20, tells Us Weekly of one of her secret style weapons.

Another close friend of the actress is designer Naeem Khan, whom Ryan calls a style inspiration. "He was one of the first designers to take a chance on me as a young actress and in the fashion world," Ryan tells Us. "He and I went to dinner and I had a chance to talk to him about his [Indian] culture. It was incredible to hear his voice about that and about designing for women."

When choosing looks for red carpet events, Ryan finds herself frequently pulling from Khan's collection. "His pieces are the perfect mix of classic and feminine — shapely and structured but soft," she explains. "The balance he has is perfect and very indicative of me and my personal style."

Ryan's tips for everyday fashionistas eager to amp up their nighttime style? Wear a daytime outfit that has the same silhouette as your evening look. "If you're wearing a body-con [piece], wear tighter jeans to get your body comfortable moving in that silhouette," she tells Us.

"If I'm wearing jeans all day at work, it's [hard] to slip into a dress and make yourself feel like you were born in it. That sort of thing can really be the difference between a good look and a great look," says the star. "You can have a great dress, but when you put it on and you feel like it's embodying who you are that day, that's not just fashion, that's style!"
