Jep Robertson Addresses Seizure, Health Scare: I Thought I Was a Goner

Publish date: 2024-06-07

Jep Robertson is thankful to be alive. The Duck Dynasty star talked about the seizure that he suffered earlier this month during a pre-taped interview on Good Morning America on Wednesday, Oct. 29.

“I reached to get my bow and that’s kind of the last I remember. I crumbled to the ground and they said that I had a seizure for five minutes,” Robertson, 36, recalled. “I thought I was a goner.”

The A&E star was deer hunting in a remote part of his native Louisiana on Oct. 19 when he collapsed. Older brother Willie was hunting close by and ran to his aide. It took nearly two hours, however, for an ambulance to arrive.

As previously reported, Robertson was given additional tests and was treated with antibiotics for possible infections that could have caused the health scare. However, now, the dad of four has revealed just how serious his condition was at the time. He was sedated in the ICU and had to be tied to the bed. In addition, he was put on a ventilator for four days and only started to fully feel like himself again on Oct. 23. During the alarming ordeal, Robertson at one point couldn’t even remember his mother, Miss Kay.

“Waking up Thursday I was looking around and asked [my wife] Jess, ‘What are we doing in the hospital?’ I had no idea what had happened four days before.”
