Miss USA 2018: Best Swimsuit Competition Looks

Beauty pageant queens! As expected, the 2018 Miss USA competition contestants brought the glitz and the glam. The show, which aired on Fox on Monday, May 21, crowned Miss Nebraska, Sarah Rose Summers, as this year’s Miss USA. But before Summers took the crown, she strutted her stuff in a royal-blue bikini amongst the other contestants like Miss California, Miss New Jersey and Miss Florida.

A couple of fun facts about the Miss USA pageant’s swimsuit competition: when the contest debuted in 1921, contestants were required to sport one-piece suits that covered their cleavage and upper thighs. Until 1947, the winner of the pageant was crowned in her swimwear; luckily now, the winner wears her evening gown for that major photo app! Amazingly, bikinis were a no-go until 1997 when the ban was lifted, though bottoms still can dip no lower than one inch below contestant’s belly buttons.
