Nashville Sneak Peek: Sean Asks Juliette for an Annulment After Eloping

Juliette Barnes and Sean Butler’s marriage could be ending faster than it began. In a sneak preview from the Jan. 16 episode of the ABC smash Nashville, Juliette (Golden Globe nominee Hayden Panettiere) greets a swarm of screaming fans outside of her concert venue.

“Juliette! Juliette Barnes!” one woman yells repeatedly.

The “Undermine” singer hears the woman and asks, “Who’d you like it made out to?”

Unfortunately, the woman doesn’t want Juliette’s autograph. “You’ve been served,” she tells the newly married singer. “Have a nice day.”

Shocked, Juliette heads to her tour bus and hands the letter to her manager. “It’s a summons to appear before a judge in family court tomorrow — for an annulment hearing,” Glenn Goodman (Ed Amatrudo) tells her. (In the Jan. 9 episode, Juliette and professional football player Sean tied the knot in a quickie Vegas wedding — but Juliette, wearing her wedding gown — ditched their planned church wedding at the last minute.)

“I guess you were wrong,” Juliette says, looking forlorn. “Sean doesn’t want to hear from me. He wants to pretend this never happened.”

Nashville airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
