Phil Robertson, Duck Dynasty Star, Buys Wife Wedding Ring Christmas

Never too late! Amid his suspension from his A&E hit series, Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson took a moment to show his appreciation for his wife, Miss Kay. On Wednesday, Dec. 25, his granddaughter Sadie Robertson shared the long-overdue wedding ring he presented his longtime love.

"After 50 years of marriage Papaw Phil finally gave Mamaw Kay a wedding ring for Christmas ??," Sadie wrote via Twitter. With the message, the reality star posted a picture of Phil pointing directly at the new bling on Miss Kay's finger. 

The sweet moment comes amid controversy for the star. The 67-year-old was suspended from the show that made him famous after a racially-charged interview with GQ surfaced earlier this month. Almost a week later, the reality star broke his silence about getting suspended from the series during a Bible study group in West Monroe, LA., on Dec. 22.

"I will not give or back off from my path," he said at the time. "I love all men and women. I am a lover of humanity, not a hater. I will not give or back off from my path because you conquered death, Father, so we are not worried about all the repercussions."

As for now, it is still uncertain whether the most-watched reality show in cable television history will go on. "We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm," the Robertson family wrote in a statement after Phil's suspension. "We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty."
