Witney Carson on Her Engagement Ring; Plus, Who's in Her Wedding Party
A dream ring—and all it took was a little help from the future Mrs. herself! Two days after announcing her engagement via Instagram, pro dancer Witney Carson was back in the ballroom on Dancing With the Stars, where she spilled on just how she landed the perfect bauble.
Carson, 21, who is now wearing a 2-carat oval diamond engagement ring with a diamond halo and a pave-accented rose gold band from Carson Mcallister (her high school sweetheart), told Us Weekly, “He did so well!” But she admits her fiancé, 23, did have a little help: “My mom really knows what I like—I’ve been sending her pictures. His mom and my mom kind of helped him and guided him through it. I love it so much!”
Even sweeter: the story behind her surprise engagement. “I didn’t even know Carson was in town—he lives in Utah and comes out every other weekend. I thought he was at home working, and he just surprised me,” the dancer dished.
The blonde beauty went on, “I was meeting his sisters for dinner in Manhattan Beach. We went out onto the beach to take pictures and I looked over, and he was standing there surrounded by candles and a little canopy. That’s when he proposed! It was really beautiful and he did an amazing job.”

And the best part? Carson said she “didn’t even see it coming.” She told Us, “When I first saw him, I couldn’t believe it was him. I was like, ‘What? Wait, it’s happening!’ I’m really excited and happy.”
So excited, in fact, that’s she already has two members of her wedding party in place: Her best friend, fellow DWTS pro Lindsay Arnold, will serve as her maid of honor, and Alfonso Ribeiro‘s son will be the couple’s ring bearer. “He is so special to me,” Carson said of Ribeiro, who was her (victorious!) dancing partner on the hit series in 2014. “They’re family!”
