Zooey Deschanel on Her Look: "I'm Bangs and Eyes"

From carrying a rabbit-shaped purse on the red carpet to rocking tuxedo-inspired nail art, Zooey Deschanel has the cute and quirky thing pretty down pat.

And in the new issue of Allure, the New Girl actress discusses the attributes that her fans seem to know her by most.

"I'm bangs and eyes," she says in the magazine's February issue. "It's who I am. There have been periods when I've grown my bangs out, but I always cut them back, so it's like, why go through the trouble?"

In truly "adorkable" form, the blue-eyed beauty, 31, was the center of attention after she hit the 2012 Golden Globe Awards red carpet on January 15, sporting shorter, shoulder-grazing tresses and wispy face-framing pieces that many were referring to as sideburns.

But for Deschanel, who recently split with her musician husband of two years Ben Gibbard, criticism about her hair, style and even her figure is like water on a duck's back.

"Some people around me, they're like 89 pounds," she continues to the mag. "I'm not going to say I'm a big girl. I'm a very small person, but I'm a healthy weight. That might be a little weird for Hollywood."
